Finally….
Recently I’ve working my buns off trying to finish a lot of unfinished compositions collecting virtual dust on my computer, and getting my website done, so that I can finally start “selling” myself to other people in need of a fitting soundtrack ;)
Judging from the design of the website, you can easily say that programming isn’t necessarily the subject on which I would write a book about… to put it that way…
I’ve also gotten around with making my own business cards as well. (which I handed out to the Dice-producer of Battlefield 3, Alexander Grøndalen btw ;) oh yesh.)
And now… to start convincing game developers into letting me do their musical score or their Sound Design ;)
Did you get that, Behemoth?

Orchestral and stringy compositions for a nicer, more analogue approach.
I had RPG-games and children tales in mind when composing these. And most of them were used in several videos. (click on the tracks for info)

The percentage of blippiness is intense ;)
Or as we call it in Norway: “duppeditt”

Older compositions that “placed last”

I’m currently working on the sound design for an upcoming exciting game called “Secrets of Grindea” which can, at first glance, be described as a “Zelda’ish 4up-game”.
But that’s kinda the same thing as saying “Call of Duty is Wolfenstein without monsters”
(…man, lousy analogy.)
I’m having real fun making sound effects for this game, and working with these guys (and girl) who are a bunch of turbomotivated niceys doesn’t make this job any less… you know, joyous :D
Anyway. Without giving away to much information about the game itself before its release (late 2012/early 2013) I can honestly say that my pants are somewhat moist with anticipation of the release.
Just look at that freaking cozy park!
Makes me wanna face dive in that pink tree and play with the butterflies whilst waving to that old man with the scissors, before chasing the old lady’s doves and play a round of “Egyptian Ratscrew” with that tarot-guy.

“Ut i Øyan”
I edited the video, helped during filming and composed the music for this movie to attract potential tourists.
It’s kinda cool that the first comment on this video, was someone asking about the music. It is an updated version of my earlier tracks: “Siro“
I’ll upload both that one and the remixed version “Oris” (featured in Kindergarten’s Showreel’11)
Other than that, I’m not that proud of (n)either the filming (n)or the editing of the video. First of all, this place is known for its occasional spectacular painterly nature-scenes during sundowns and such. But the minute me and my colleague Aesop entered the island, the weather turned out to be a bitch and instantly shift to a suck-ass’y greyish downpour which kinda took all the personality and uniqueness out of the place.
We’ve been here before the year before when we made a mini-webshow featuring a chubby danish guy on a bike down the “Kystriksveien”. Check it out

Showreel for Kindergarten Media AS.
About time it got updated
Working on the showreel has in the past few years always been de-prioritized due to not having enough time at all, but we discovered a tiny little loophole in our calendar and took advantage of it.
That’s why I simply got rid of the 2-3 year old dust-collecting FCP-project and just started all over again after composing a new tune:
A peculiar thing this song: it’s built using chunks from a newer version of “Siro” (which means “ocean” in Romany) played backwards. That’s why the melody in this video is called “Oris” (which probably means “naeco” in Romany)
I’ll upload both “Oris” and the newer version of “Siro” eventually.

Not so bragable this one, but still a snappy, fast and funny commercial for an erotic shop.
Our pals at Gidd kindly asked me to produce a dildo-like sound, so i whipped out my… razer, nosehairtrimmer(i hate growing old) but the Xbox 360-controller turned out to do the trick, so i simply placed it in a shoe-box and recorded it with various vibration strengths, as well as recording the box “slip“‘ing off the table and hitting the ground.
See, reading this probably took you 5 times longer than actually just seeing the commercial itself :P
Fark - “Tralala” feat. Nuppa&Knøttet
(w/ english subs press “cc”)
Nothing in these movies were scripted or orchestrated beforehand in any way.
No direction was given to the people in front of the camera, whatsoever.
(well, a few “could you repeat that?“‘s may have been issued)
After taking some time off from work, I totally isolated myself in my old room back home, away from my phone and anyone but my family, in order to get this one finished before I die.
This time, I tried making it a bit more like the first one, since the second one was perhaps a bit too focused on the musical bit, rather than the kids’ charm and humor.
Trivia #1: these chords are the same ones used in the chorus’ of Åge Aleksandersen’s “Levva Livet”
Trivia #2: After asking the same Åge if he could wish Heidrun a happy birthday while I taped it, his voice was then extracted from that recording and used as a backing bass vocal during the second “OOohh!” in the chorus.

Our pal Peder is marrying this Canadian girl called Emily,
so me and my friends threw him a stag-party which involved him involuntarily singing some lyrics written beforehand ;)
Attendees from the wedding reported it was quite the show when the groom surprised everyone by playing this video on a big screen at the wedding dinner.
Including the unknowing bride ;)

The melody for this song is actually a pretty old composition of mine. Well basically I just played around with the keys, but never got around to take it further than this.
That tiny goofy comp. from 2007 was actually used several times in some videos we‘ve worked on. (I.e. one of the episodes from the “Null$katte$nylterne“-documentary- we made)
Anyway,
I was actually hoping for a collaboration on this tune with someone..
Perhaps next time.

Romany for “Kiss”
(i only lost 4 fans from my Farkbook page, after uploading this one. I was expecting a bigger loss :P)
Update:25.okt. This track is featured on Kahvi’s latest release “Terraform”
Magnus asked me to join him in producing daily videos at “Ekstremsportveko 2011”, a festival for crazy people who like throwing themselves off cliffs and so on.
In these videos, I’ve used some parts from an unreleased upcoming song called “Novaling”
Day #1 - A Physicist’s POV (Norwegian)
Day #2 -Psychology in Extremesports (eng subs)
At 0:18 the trees change colors, as I was testing out some new filters in FCP ’
Day#3 - Physiological report from a virgin basejumper (Norwegian)
(We went to the “press-cavern” and delivered the raw footage to NRK (yes, Anne Rimmen was there as well, and think I managed to restrain myself from giggling :f ,
some clips from this video were therefore featured in a news report, NRK)
