Website: done

Finally….

Recently I’ve working my buns off trying to finish a lot of unfinished compositions collecting virtual dust on my computer, and getting my website done, so that I can finally start “selling” myself to other people in need of a fitting soundtrack ;)

Judging from the design of the website, you can easily say that programming isn’t necessarily the subject on which I would write a book about… to put it that way…

I’ve also gotten around with making my own business cards as well. (which I handed out to the Dice-producer of Battlefield 3, Alexander Grøndalen btw ;)    oh yesh.)

And now… to start convincing game developers into letting me do their musical score or their Sound Design ;)

Did you get that, Behemoth

New album released: "Troll"

the third version of Fark

The percentage of blippiness is intense ;)

Or as we call it in Norway: “duppeditt”

Purchase the entire album, and get lots of ringtones from these songs ;)

New album released: "Surpomp"

When Fark is pissed, he kinda looks like this. And his ears turns into chainsawy things...

Equally blippy

These didn’t make it to the “top” (meaning the “Troll“-album)

New album released: "Gnom"

Now who the hell is this one?

Older compositions that “placed last”

(purchase the entire album and get lots of ringtones from these songs, and some unreleased ones as well ;)

Sorry for the horizontal meaness, girls :P

Fark - “First”

Initially, I was hoping one of my friends would do the vocals for this tune, but unfortunately he didn’t have the time. So I had to timidly use my very own rusty voice. (hence the _immense_ vocal treatment)
The truth is, while I’m not that great a singer, nor a songwriter, I can’t even play the guitar that well either.
This guitar-line is actually the first melody i ever plucked out of the strings at the time i picked up a guitar over three years ago.
So i guess the only authentic thing in this song is the female vocals, which were so effective i barely had to touch’em after they were recorded.
Didn’t spend that much time on the video as i normally would do, but since this monkey has been riding my ass for the last three years, I can finally “close the deal” by uploading it, making me feel approx 30 kg lighter :P
…Well at least you have about a million desktopbackgroundfriendly summer pictures to freezeframe and pick :P (Or you could just check out the links at the bottom ;) )
This tune was originally used in a commercial for a hairdresser on the cinema screens,
Thanks to:
Runi for female vocals and giving important feedback along the way.
Espen for letting me use some of his delicious motiongraphics (the zoomy bits).

Showreel for Kindergarten Media AS.

About time it got updated

Working on the showreel has in the past few years always been de-prioritized due to not having enough time at all, but we discovered a tiny little loophole in our calendar and took advantage of it.

That’s why I simply got rid of the 2-3 year old dust-collecting FCP-project and just started all over again after composing a new tune:

A peculiar thing this song: it’s built using chunks from a newer version of “Siro” (which means “ocean” in Romany) played backwards. That’s why the melody in this video is called “Oris” (which probably means “naeco” in Romany)

I’ll upload both “Oris” and the newer version of “Siro” eventually.

Fark - “Tralala” feat. Nuppa&Knøttet
(w/ english subs press “cc”)

Nothing in these movies were scripted or orchestrated beforehand in any way.

No direction was given to the people in front of the camera,  whatsoever.

(well, a few “could you repeat that?“‘s may have been issued)

After taking some time off from work, I totally isolated myself in my old room back home, away from my phone and anyone but my family, in order to get this one finished before I die.

This time, I tried making it a bit more like the first one, since the second one was perhaps a bit too focused on the musical bit, rather than the kids’ charm and humor.

Trivia #1: these chords are the same ones used in the chorus’ of Åge Aleksandersen’s “Levva Livet”

Trivia #2: After asking the same Åge if he could wish Heidrun a happy birthday while I taped it, his voice was then extracted from that recording and used as a backing bass vocal during the second “OOohh!” in the chorus.

Our pal Peder is marrying this Canadian girl called Emily,

so me and my friends threw him a stag-party which involved him involuntarily singing some lyrics written beforehand ;)

Attendees from the wedding reported it was quite the show when the groom surprised everyone by playing this video on a big screen at the wedding dinner.

Including the unknowing bride ;)

The melody for this song is actually a pretty old composition of mine. Well basically I just played around with the keys, but never got around to take it further than this.

That tiny goofy comp. from 2007 was actually used several times in some videos we‘ve worked on. (I.e. one of the episodes from the “Null$katte$nylterne“-documentary- we made)

Anyway,

I was actually hoping for a collaboration on this tune with someone..

Perhaps next time.

Romany for “Kiss”

(i only lost 4 fans from my Farkbook page, after uploading this one. I was expecting a bigger loss :P)

Update:25.okt. This track is featured on Kahvi’s latest release “Terraform”

mentioned in Adressa.no

Seconds after reading an email from my father with a linked .pdf-file showing an article from the local newspapers about me and a commercial I worked on, the phone rang telling me was Adresseavisa.no (just a bit bigger than aforementioned newspaperfirm) who wanted to do an article about my Nuppa&Knøttet-videos.

Damn son, that was a long sentence!

“Bli Farmasøyt!” (student-fetching ad for HiNT)

Composed music and edited this video in hopes of getting more students at HiNT, Namsos’ Pharmacy-study.

It will be played in several cinemas in various cities.

Before me and my colleagues started working on this project, I made a quick draft as a suggestion of style we could use:

After filming setting up lunch at the office, I then composed a tune using the sound from the recordings from both the videocamera, and my trusty audiorecorder (emptying the dishwasher, setting plates, throwing a avocado gone rancid in the trash etc.). which, in my opinion held a nicer melody and a bit more original sound (it even had a vocal track!).

But sadly, it was voted out during the scripting-process of this version.

Hopefully, I’ll get to use that other melody in another project in the future ;)
